Elaine was commissioned by the NASA Haughton-Mars Project in 2003 to compose the song Martians (the title track) and film a video on Devon Island in the Canadian High Arctic, 75 degrees North, with mission of inspiring the dream of humans living on Mars. Martians marks the end of an era for ZIA, the time spent on the East Coast.
