About "Aura":
Sound images collected in abstract tales: this is perhaps the aspect that emerges from the explorations of “Aura”, a research in which the continuous recoding of signs is drawn at the same time from the temptation of unlimited semiosis and the structural coherence of musical composition.
These pieces reflect a working method that always starts from field recordings and concrete sounds. They may have been recorded in closed or open spaces, in cities or in natural places. Their subsequent digital manipulation allows for the construction of sounds that are unrecognizable from the original source, or the desire to keep their provenance clear prevails.
There is then an exploration of this sound archive to vivify it in new configurations, and to create passages between different places and times, and between memories, discoveries and perceptive explorations.

Marco Ferrazza is an electroacoustic/objects sounds artist based in Italy. In the past, he has released works on labels such as Sound Against Humanity, Falt, and the emptiness of Hemisphäre. This album "Aura" is centered around pieces that he has performed at festivals and exhibitions in the past ('Airplane and Other Useful Stuff', 'Gate Tale', 'Relative Present').
All of the pieces you can listen to here are impressive for their organic combination of concrete sounds and electronic sounds constructed by subtraction. There is a slight affinity with early concrete/electronic music works from the 1960s and 1970s, such as those by François Bayle, but Ferrazza's individuality can be felt in the presence of electronic sounds that are sometimes clear and sometimes mixed with environmental sounds and objects sounds that seem to have been manipulated by tape. This album is structured like a compilation, making it the perfect work to capture his style.

Marco Ferrazza is a composer and a performer of electroacoustic music.
He composed several acousmatic pieces which have been performed on various exhibitions and international festivals. In his work he combines electronic music, visual explorations, experimental soundtracks and free improvisation. He constantly investigates the relationships between electronic arts and concrete music, field recordings and digital manipulation of sound, improvisation and new technologies.
