Futurism from Strange Times by Yulia Musayelyan
The intro section of Futurism comes from a melodic line that I dreamt up in 2004. Some twenty years later, I could finally connect its restless energy to the main composition, which is based on a variation of the Uruguayan rhythmic style 'candombe'.

Yulia Musayelyan is a flutist and composer, originally from Moscow, Russia. She has recorded on over 35 albums as sideman and has toured the US, UK, Europe, Central and South America with various musical projects.
