Scotopia by Yiding Zhang

《Scotopia》is a field recording album, recording and recording various sounds in different places and at different times in New York City during the two years since I arrived in the United States in September 2018 to study sound art. For two years, I used the microphone and portable tape recorder to walk in different places in New York City, staying in central park, the streets, the seaside, the forest, and finally, because of the outbreak of the epidemic, I went home and recorded everything within my reach as a continuation of this album.

The locations of these field recordings are scattered, although they all still belong to New York, like the radiator in my room, from the long central park to the radiator in my bedroom, which may be the end, or the beginning of a new paragraph.
