the forest by WILD

With Connection to nature and forest in mind, this album was composed exclusively with live takes. Six improvisations around the raw sound of a limited set up of instruments : modular synth, Lyra 8, Abyss and Nyx synths, Farfisa organ and tape loops. I wanted to have a more organic sound and process. A lot of randomness.

Some parts are recorded on tape loops so we can hear the hiss, that dear lo-fi vibe.

All is recorded straight to a Zoom H2 and mastered at home with TLA Fatman and Elektron Analog Heat. I kept the analog distortions during the process.

My name is Laurent Hilairet, I like to experiment with sounds in the goal of searching interactions between music and emotions. I play various instruments, but actually my main ones are the modular synth and the Lyra 8. I like to play with randomness and unpredictability.
