The balafon fragments you hear opening the track mimic exactly how scent travels through market corridors—in waves, dispersing, then reforming unexpectedly.

That bottle percussion wasn't planned! We'd set up near their stalls when a perfume mixer started tapping rhythmic patterns on his glass vials, answering our balafon player. The spontaneous dialog became the backbone of the entire arrangement.

Our synth player Jata nearly ruined her vintage analog by bringing it too close to the mixing stations—the aromatic oils actually seeped into the circuits. But something magical happened: the instrument developed this warm, honeyed tone that perfectly matched the environment.
