The thunder hangs and burrows
Writhes among the weeping stone

A cloud of spirit the fog of decay
Call to the choir of ghastly dust

Wave-serpents weave through bones and clay
Thoracic sieve that will pierce the ground, become on with stone

Waves shall break on sky aflame
Barrow-bound in wind and rain
Follow the sun back whence the shadows had come 

Shine of stars and bones unbound
On high seat he is found

Through Turf, mud and roof decayed
Hand on hand, descend the braid

Barrow dweller, strong of hand
Lord of waves, chief of men

Then he grasped my leaving foot
Pulled me through ash and root

Wrestled there in dust of bone
All was dark before the throne
