10p Jazz by Volk Soup

10p Jazz is the debut full-length from Leeds six-piece Volk Soup—a blistering, brass-infused freefall through post-punk, noise rock, and disjointed rhythm. Abrasive and theatrical, the album is packed with sudden turns, fractured structures, and a chaotic sense of momentum that never fully settles. It’s a record that builds and unbuilds itself in real time.

Volk Soup blend guitars, horns, and percussion into a dense, tangled sound—equal parts menace, absurdity, and catharsis. Songs twist and rupture without warning, leaning into collapse as a compositional tool. The result is volatile and unpredictable, but never careless.

According to vocalist Harry Jones:
“We tried to create something unplaceable—like it’s always two steps ahead of you. Or maybe just broken in a satisfying way.”

Rearing their snarling heads, Volk Soup seek to put themselves securely on the map
beginning in the fertile land of the North of England, making good use of the venues
and populated post-punk scene at their disposal.

Volk Soup’s message is far from complete as they are armed to the teeth with an arsenal of more volatile strings to their bow.
