when writing this EP (i wanted to infuse it thematically and lyrically with some optimism about the future of the Earth. i needed to stop being such a nihilist and make some music that served a purpose of imagining a future where we win: we feel safe in our climate, they chose to use technology for good. i know this kind of solarpunk ideology is hard to live by, i struggle with it a lot, but putting myself in that state of mind for artistic purposes made me a bit more sane, which was cool. it's also a bit hard to take on the aesthetic challenge of producing music that carries this tag on the title, but i thought I'd take the risk, (unafraid to reference or not reference), hopefully it'll inspire someone else to also choose this chaotic sample-everything-and-it'll-make-sense-later energy that i love so much, and to maybe use this music as an aid for eco-anxiety maybe (i know manic is kinda anxiety-ridden but as whole i think this EP is kinda positive, or, as optimistic as i can be maybe).
thank you Janghoon for being on SOUTH and bridging the global north and south on the project.
thanks for reading and i hope you listen and like it.
