Vidar Skrede DYNAMO BAND
- is the solo band of Vidar Skrede that performs Vidar's own tune compositions. The tunes are inspired by the Nordic traditions and reflect Vidar as a musician today - a folk musician who has taken color from many directions as a fiddler.
The two others completing the band are the Finnish musicians Pilvi Järvelä on harmonium, and Jani Kivelä on cittern. Pilvi Järvelä has a background in both classical music and folk music on piano and harmonium. Jani Kivelä has a background in pop, jazz, rock, and tango, as well as folk music. Both are known for the band Tsuumi Sound System, a world music band that has toured extensively in Europe and won many awards both in Finland and abroad.
Vidar Skrede DYNAMO BAND's album, Happy Monkey, was nominated for best folk music album of 2013 at the Emma awards (the Finnish Grammy awards).

Recorded at the Sibelius Academy's old folk music department in Helsinki spring of 2011, in Antti Puumalainen's parents' cottage in Visuvesi summer of 2011, in Pilvi Järvelä's home in Kerava, and in Vidar Skrede's home in Helsinki summer 2013.
Edited and mixed at all recording locations and also at Hannu Oskala's workspace in Helsinki 2012, and at Antti Puumalainen's home in Kuopio 2012, where also the final master was made summer of 2013.

Vidar is a Nordic folk musician and composer from Norway, living in Milwaukee, WI. He performs and teaches Harding-fiddle, fiddle, guitar, and bouzouki. He has a background in traditional music from his home area, Rogaland.
Vidar is known through numerous bands, projects, and has both nominated and awarded recordings behind him. He has toured all of the North European countries and North America.
