sacred spring by VERA SACRA
Performing under the alias VERA SACRA, producer, vocalist, and cellist Emily Marks releases her debut EP, 'sacred spring', this August. Following a period of her life characterised by frequent moving - between Sheffield, London, Riga & Tallinn - this music emerged as a way to make sense of constant movement, whilst searching for a sense of home amid transience.
On her EP she writes, ‘I feel so often that we are demanded to hold solid identities, clear senses of belonging and purpose. In 'sacred spring' I explore the challenges and beauty of liminality and the constant quest of finding a sense of home’
With sacred spring, VERA SACRA transforms her restless search into an expansive sonic landscape, exploring themes of distance, liminality, and the quiet strength of carving space through sound. Blending breathless melancholy vocals and spectral minimalism, VERA SACRA’s latest body of work sees the multi-instrumentalist at her most focused and evocative, navigating the tension between vulnerability and control with haunting intensity.
