June 23 2022:

I was hired to perform a private Faerie/Solstice party the other night, and lead a musical ritual at midnight. I wrote a slightly simpler and lighter version of this song to perform, then added a few personal touches for this recording. It’s kind of a lot of different ideas rather than a clear narrative of any kind. Lots of overlapping repeating vocals as most of my “spell songs” go.

I was also very inspired by the film Midsommar, and though it wasn’t intended as literally about that flick, I feel like it would kinda work with it.

Thanks to Tom Cavnar for shooting a picture of me with our ridiculously bountiful plum tree this evening!
