mortal weight from skeleton crew by uncleshake

in the night when everybody's eyes shut tight
they creep around just out of sight
they're bored and looking for a fight

they stick to the shadows they never see light
they never make a move until the moment is right
they'll catch you in the corner they'll wrestle control
they'll kill you and they'll take away your soul
they were right around the corner how could i have known
they didn't want my money it's my soul that they would own
it was a little too late I felt a little too swell
they caught me and they brought me to their hell

in time decay takes flesh away to shed mt mortal weight
now are free the bones of me to roam the night and play

at first I couldn't move but was completely aware
the world raced around me as I lay right there
endless moments blend together never early never late
just time swerved in a sentence of interminable wait
organic compounds decompose and bugs eat to live
my skin grew tight and then grew loose and then began to give
so bored and trapped for so long all I needed was a chance
so my bones left from my body they just couldn't help but dance

hollow eyes and sickly grins we slowly pull away our
skin to find what left inside until there's nothing left to
hide behind no reason why we cannot just our
time but when we understand our time has slipped away
between our hands
