Isolation Vacation by Uncle Bengine
Burnt out from an odd year, lacking creative outlets and really just creativity in general, I packed up some guitars and took a weekend trip to the Northern Neck in Virginia. I left at the end of the weekend with a few bits and pieces for what will hopefully become some Uncle Bengine and the Restraining Orders songs and a weird one off track about COVID closing the hot dog stand at the small beach town.
Fast Forward two months, with a little downtime around Thanksgiving I decided to record the Hot Dog song in it's punk glory. Then I wrote a companion track and as the week progressed I ended up with this 5 song EP.
This is not an Uncle Bengine and the Restraining Orders record, it is Uncle Bengine writing without a filter, missing my normal checks and balance, attempting to step outside of our standard genre, while walking haphazardly through a heavy fog of self-doubt. I hope you enjoy it!
