This album is an array of jazz music made by James McCoy, more well known as UGLYTHEY, a nonbinary singer and songwriter. In these pieces, James goes from bearing their soul to the audience to putting on an almost musical-esq. character and singing about an imaginary life full of macabre. The band, made up of William Fazille (Drums), David Moore (Saxophone), Patrick Shambayati (Bass) and Steve McCarvel (Pianist and music co-collaborator), provide a rich background for the melodic stories that UGLYTHEY brings to life.

UGLYTHEY is a new-age jazz group based in Phoenix, Arizona. With a diverse cast of talent, this group works to combine the past and future of jazz and has an emphasis on creativity, authenticity, and keeping the beautiful beast that is jazz well fed and alive.
