Lyrics
Reaching forth from the structure, fingers flicking through our thoughts
Pummeling skulls with unfathomable visions it claimed had been there all along
Where the soul goes, oh, the bones, they must follow
Blood thick as bleach, but the body, it must swallow
Sickness and sorrow and wallow in filth
Eyes in the concrete stare into the hills
And how we clamber for ascension
We crawl up mountains of the filth
And how we squirm within the squalor
And still we crawl towards the hills
Ignorant to life, selfish in our needs
Blinded by desire to bleed, and know, and breed
But never breath, and never learn, and never still to seek
Only to accumulate all that we could reach
And it reaches back from the structure
Hung in the sky, making blade of the wind
Bodies below, like rats, fused together
All the answers now tangled in limbs
Ancient wisdom asleep in the system
Sacred visions adrift in the sequence
Hands aloft, held in praise of the light
The bulb that burns the brightest be the flame that governs life
Felt the godly gaze of the eye
Felt the wobbling weight of the sky
Thought of the forlorn crumbling of words
Dreamt of the looming untangling of worlds
And sank into those visions
And vanished in those dreams
And we wither along with them
And so we must sleep
Sleep with the eye watching over
Dream as its lens fills with blood
