Today, Tony Njoku has shared a new song, 'The Reset,' alongside a live session performance, the first of several to follow throughout the end of July. With a sound that is both experimental and delicate, emotional and danceable โ like a mad fusion of Sampha and Aphex Twin โ Tony is a magnificently talented and versatile artist, performing solo with his unique mix of raw, vulnerable vocals and electronic mastery.
Tony Njoku is a British-Nigerian electronic music producer and songwriter. He's played widely across Europe, supporting acts including Kokoko!, Gaika, Anna Von Hauswolff, Laura Misch, Puma Blue, IDER and River Consoles. He was the winner of 2016's Green Man Rising competition and has appeared at key tastemaker festivals Simple Things, Sonic City and Gilles Peterson's We Out Here.
Known for taking on a genre-bending aesthetic, Njoku is one of the more diverse and adventurous artists working today. Taking influence from the trap-inspired hip-hop sound and combining that with a fresh and atmospheric production, he achieves a distinct and remarkable sonic vision reminiscent of Sampha, Aphex Twin, Moses Sumney, and serpentwithfeet.
His impressive body of work โ 2021's KILLTONY EP, 2020's Justine EP, 2019's YOUR PSYCHE'S RAINBOW PANORAMA album, 2018's H.P.A.C album, and 2016's debut album In Greyscale โ has received critical acclaim from The Guardian, Dork, Clash, The Quietus, Mixmag and more, and showcases Njoku's practice as an eclectic mix of various ideas and genres, making him one of the UK's most alluring experimental artists today.
Njoku has more live session videos in store for us, arriving throughout the rest of July, as well as a support slot on Goat Girl's forthcoming UK tour.
