Each droplet echoes all around, erodes away my mind
Here no light can reach me, in shadow I am cast
Alone I am forgotten. All memory has passed

The very stone that forms these walls grows taller every day
At least that’s how it seems to me as the world creeps away
I cast my mind back now and then to how things used to be
Up there in the golden sun, without a care and free
Now my future’s snapped away I’ve long run out of hope
It would have been a mercy to dangle from a rope
