Otherworld from XV by the Machine in the Garden

This is the other new song written specifically for this collection. I was trying to do something a little different than usual (e.g., non-distorted guitars). I also wanted a more classic approach for this song as opposed to the more loop-driven writing I’d done for Shadow Puppets. The song was originally over seven minutes long (I joked that I was channeling Disintegration-era Cure), but we adjusted it later to better fit the words. –R

The Machine in the Garden is an independent gothic/darkwave duo featuring Roger Fracé and Summer Bowman. Since their formation, Roger and Summer have developed and advanced their unique style through years of collaborating and intertwining their musical tastes.
