Night Terrors by Night Terrors

Night Terrors is a creative collaboration between musicians Tim Mirth, Chris Herald and Paul Stranahan. The group came together to create a template of soundscapes and movements to take one through some kind of hazy, often scary, dream.

The group is able to many extremes. There is an obvious free jazz foundation, but elements of Radiohead, Tool, Mahuvishnu and Indian Raga forms all make an appearance. The shear variety of sounds available on this album are far reaching. Paul's drums resonate rhythmic imagination plus about 20 singing bowls and 20 different size gongs add many layers. Tim seemingly brought every crazy effect he could find to make sounds that sound nothing like guitar, but also makes sounds that sound exactly like guitar. Chris, a master at the sax, was able to create just as many sounds with his horn alone.

This album is intended to be enjoyed in solitude or with a quiet group, the lights dimmed/off, and time to reflect. You will feel emotions, you will be high, you will be low, and at the end you might even find some peace.
