Tessellation by Threedom
Like most of the world, we were caught mid-activity when the Covid quarantines went into effect mid-March 2020.
After recording our improvisation sessions over the prior six months (the recordings from which would eventually make up our debut album, Omne Trium), we were poised to have our first public appearance as a part of Asher's week-long residency at PDX's underground speakeasy venue, Al's Den. When the news that venues would be shutting down went around, Asher rescheduled the week into livestream concerts from his home studio and went about learning how to make that work, having never done one before.
The band ended up playing three completely improvised sets for a bigger-than-expected online audience on March 19th, 2020...sadly, the studio computer couldn't handle both tasks and the multitrack was lost, leaving only the live stereo mix for an audio document. Despite being up-mastered from that 320kpbs MP4 save file, the final selections from the show contain some of our favorite themes we've found so far; as always created in-the-moment, live in one-take, with no advance discussion whatsoever and no overdubs. Spontaneous Group Composition!
