and spend the rest of our lives falling upward and buying sutures
to accompany the blinders made to hide the grim natures
of rulers so individually focused on fucking others

unfortunately, it has been this way for scores of decades:
the pasty parasite of the earth, upright,
seeking someone else to exterminate
and hellbent on every other person they perceive as below them
being inherent to only suffering in the process

we are better off
sawing through our heads
to set ourselves free
from that sense of shame
you’re to die buried
underneath that weight
nothing else can counteract the pain

just a dick swinging contest on which one can bring extinction home
and when it falls apart we just point the finger at someone else we know
acknowledging blame and accountability but internalizing none of it
knee deep in the waste but calling out others wading in shit
as if we have any leverage on the situation, tensions boiling
where we turn on our own instead of spitting at the ones destroying who
