Foras from Voice Loops by Carrie Fucile

'Foras' was highly influenced by my time at the summer 2023 TWIS workshop in Czechia—particularly Irena Tomazin's thoughts on the link between folk music and sounds in nature. Upon returning home, I almost immediately began to record these vocalisations—singing into the microphone while looking out the window at the trees and birds of August, trying to feel like the wind or a body of water, and letting what came flow out of me.
