The Misanthrope by The Watchmakers

There's a gritty weathered Americana character to these city songs, and while very much rock, each track tells a distinct story of struggle.

And yes, the folks involved with creating this album and telling these stories have played in some better known bands:  Ours, Elefant, Radio 4, Apefight, Teenbeaters, etc., but the reality is this album sounds nothing like those bands.  You're more apt to hear bits of Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, and Built to Spill.

Also, Zambia Greene's (singer/songwriter/instrumentalist) talents were featured in the movie "Afropunk", which kicked off the movement.

Utilizing multimedia arts, Zambia Greene and longtime friend Rey Miranda have created a new music/comic book multimedia project called "Run By the Gun".  The latest versions of the songs "The Misanthrope" and "A Lost Bag" (Kevin McAdams on drums) are featured on the RBG album "Songs from the Little Blue House".
