Mounting Losses by The Tiny Mummies

I'm an inherently happy person although you might not think so based on the subject matter herein. However, much of the music and poetry I write explores the sorrow of living or the fate of dying. It's an outlet for my feelings of loss that I believe all of us feel from time to time, but don't or can't share.

Mounting Losses is a collection of these songs of sadness. They explore the many ways we can grieve, and hopefully heal, after experiencing a loss, no matter what it is. I started hatching a concept for this album towards the end of 2017 and I've been picking away at it haphazardly now for six years. I wrote several of these songs pre-pandemic, but certainly that strange, isolating, and sorrowful time gave this project a bit more of a push.

This music was created in beautiful Ottawa, Ontario. I would like to acknowledge that the land on which I make music as well as live is the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabeg people. Thank you, I am most appreciative of your generosity and sacrifice. Any proceeds that this album earns will be shared with Indigenous charities.
