Crow Hollow Blonde - Pathogens

Crow Hollow Blonde's third album was a hybrid effort with the drum tracks recorded at Heartland Studios and the overdubs recorded at Nick Ramsey's Brown Rice Studios.

The tracklist itself was something of a hybrid with songs dating all the way back to 1998 (8 years before the band formed). However, the actual writing sessions for the album began with the second album "Metaphors & Monsters" in 2008-2009 as the song "We Never Die" was written for that particular album but deemed 'not ready' at the time of recording.

The "Pathogens" recording sessions began at home with the first official track "Never Be Sorry" using a loop and amp simulators. After that the songs for the album became a little more complex and the tape loops were abandoned for more complex song structures.

The 2010 Heartland Sessions for the album were a marathon that included recording the drum tracks for the album "Pathogens" (excluding "Never Be Sorry" and "December Nails"), the song "Anchor" (performed at Crow Hollow Blonde's first few shows but yet to make a studio release and soon to be used for the "Final Shots" compilation), and re-recordings of "Gasoline", "Soul Sucking Sun", "She's Not Human", and "Spider Queen" for a possible future EP.

In May 2011, after several months of overdubs the final album, featuring new songs ("Being Born", "Liars", "Nemesis", "Wounded World", "Forgive The Father", "The New Salvation"), old songs ("Roulette", "Time", "Woulda Coulda Shoulda") and songs in between ("December Nails", "Never Be Sorry", "We Never Die") was mixed, mastered and, for the first time in the band's history, released on digital formats only.

The 2020 update to "Pathogens" includes three bonus tracks available upon download: "Never Be Sorry (alt. mix)", "Roulette (mix 1)", and an unrealized song titled "Dance Tune".
