Handscapes 2 by The Piano Choir

The Piano Choir—Stanley Cowell, Sonelius Smith, Ron Burton, Nat Jones, Hugh Lawson, Webster Lewis, and Harold Mabern—expand their ensemble with Handscapes 2, including Strata-East’s frequent collaborators Mtume, Jimmy Hopps, and John Lewis on percussion. Led by Strata-East co-founder Cowell, the album serves as an expertly crafted follow-up to the group’s 1972 debut and is now remastered directly from the original analog tapes, available in digital format for the first time.
