Evergreen Signs by The Melting Ice Caps

Lyrics

I don't like finding you,
cold windows, early morning dew,
so much stale air for just one person to carry.

How strange that there's no more
pan droplets scattered on the floor.
How can life be there at one moment then nowhere?

Life reappears.
You steer me clear,
meaning well.
In the midst of awkward lines I notice something more.

Old shoots re-bloom.
Glass traps warm air in a room.
These are evergreen signs enough to reassure.

I'm rearranging things:
pot plants and office uniform.
Such ordinary things can still bring some comfort.

I'll sell this stupid house,
move near to those I care about.
I say that every year but never do it.

Laughably, I've been too concerned with my legacy,
when you can see,
I should have been concerned with the people around me.
