Each track on this project includes audio clips from a November 2020 interview/Q&A session with Jocelyn Pleasant, John Manselle-Young and Asaad Jackson. This conversation was part of Jocelyn's final project for a seminar she was taking on African music at Wesleyan University. For this project, she wanted to create a final product that provided commentary and perspective on the connections between Africa, Black culture and identity, and hip hop. The result was initially supposed to be one song, but that expanded into WLCT Radio...
