i am a frog and i live inside the pond
i eat bugs, stay in the mud, and keep away from swans
i sing my song all night long, its all i want to do
almost swallowed by my love and its got me feeling blue
i dont want to get a job and work my life away
so ill sit on this lily pad and sing this song all day

i just want to jump and croak
because i am just a frog
i just want to drink and smoke and live outside your laws
but i dont want to be accused of identity fraud
so ill just hop away now
because i am just a frog

i wanted to go on a trip so i went to the lake
i turned my back and got attacked by a yellow rattle snake
i said "let me go! ive done nothing wrong!"
then i spit my venom in his eye and went back to my pond.
ever since that day ive not been able to pledge allegiance to some flag or back the boys in blue
and if you want to wipe us out, then ive got news for you
ive got a fucking pistol and some venom for you too

no boots my throat will ever choke

i left my home and made my way to the local swamp
why would i ever go back?
i have everything i want!
no rent to pay
no managers
no deadlines to meet
no credit
cops or businessmen
no checklist to complete
we'll just swim around and when we're hungry we will eat
and when the winter comes, we will have to find some heat

nobody likes snitches
