Fjallalavender by The Broadest Blue

“[the pulse] is more of a…growing, strong, blossoming thing…”

Waking up on July 23rd 2020, music from my closing dream was fresh enough in my head that I could sing the opening notes and describe its unfolding in the voice memo quoted above—and this is what eventually became “Fjallalavender” (Icelandic for “lavender mountain”). I knew it was meant to be a piece of music that would remain steady in its underlying pulse, and yet also always be “blossoming.”
