Interstellar Tunnel by Thaneco & Romerium

An exciting album about the Mayans and their belief in an Interstellar Tunnel, the god Kinich Ahau and the book of Popol Vuh. This is the 10th collaboration with composer Romerium from the Netherlands. For this album we used both hardware and software synths. The Moog Sub37 was used for many sequences and fx on most of the tracks. Buyers get a bonus artwork with the full story of the album in pdf format (created by Romerium).

Beneath the jade and endless skies,
Where ancient temples dare to rise,
A secret whispers through the stone,
Of stars and worlds the ancients’ve known.

In sacred cenotes, depths untold,
Reflections dance on waters cold.
A portal, shrouded in the past,
To realms where time does not hold fast.

The glyphs, they speak of cosmic lore,
Of gods who walked from distant shores.
A bridge of light, a timeless gate,
Connecting realms, defying fate.

Oh, Mayan sages, wise and free,
Did you gaze through eternity?
Your stargate’s song, both near and far,
Still hums beneath the morning star.

Here is the story-concept behind this album:
Long ago, before time had a beginning or end, the Maya were a people of great wisdom, their eyes always cast to the heavens. They understood the stars, not as distant lights, but as living entities, guiding them through the cycles of life, death, and rebirth. Among them, the mighty Kinich Ahau, the Sun God, was revered not only for his light but for the knowledge he carried — knowledge that bridged the worlds of men and the divine.
The idea of a "Mayan Stargate" is rooted in modern reinterpretations and creative extrapolations of Mayan culture:
Some theories suggest that the Maya had access to a "stargate," a portal that could connect them to other dimensions or star systems. These ideas often stem from the enigmatic nature of their cities, such as Tikal, Palenque, and Copán, which are built with precise astronomical alignments and often surrounded by mystery due to their sudden decline around 900 CE.
While there is no evidence supporting the existence of a literal stargate, archaeological findings do highlight the sophistication of Mayan engineering and their ability to predict celestial events. Temples, observatories, and artifacts often reflect their quest to understand and perhaps bridge the gap between humanity and the cosmos.
