Things happen that make you weep
You shake your head in disbelief
A night for dancing, smiling and fun
But as the shots rang out, we called out
To the Father and the Son

We’re standing strong
Gonna’ weather this storm
Here’s our shoulders to lean on
Though our hearts are torn
Through every day and all night long
Still scarred by the memory
But we’re strong as a family
Troubles cannot defeat us
We’re standing strong

We all met through our love of the music
Loving trust, how some monster’s abuse it
The nightmare lasted with the rising sun
On and on, since it marked us as Survivors of Route 91

Out in the desert, some living things can still survive
