"We did a lot of work in such a short space of time, Cathal and I. It was an incredible and intense 18 months, running then tumbling down a hill, chasing an idea that thrilled us. We were having a blast and we didn’t want to stop, which is why we did these EPs, to live alongside the albums. Some concentrated on the beats, others on the words. I had my Da, my Auntie Joan, and my friend Dan Hegarty’s Mom, read a few pieces. Cathal thought this was a little mad at first but then loved it. Then we got to collaborate with some people that inspired us to think we could have a go at making music in the first place, and also some new artists that inspired us when we became Telefís: Jah Wobble, Will Sergeant, A Certain Ratio, Thomas Leer, Gareth Jones, Andrew Meecham, Basement Jaxx, Jape, Sean O’Hagan, Maurice and Charles, and my mentor and boss from the Pussyfoot days..Howie B!. Some of these tracks got lost in the rush so I’m grateful to Dimple Discs for agreeing to give them the attention we felt they deserved and thank you to the artists that came along with us. We were shocked you said yes!"

Throughout 2021/2022 Dimple Discs released a series of EPs as companion pieces to the two albums 'a hAon' and 'a Dó'. These featured remixes and alternate versions, mostly by Jacknife Lee himself, but also by specially chosen guests who would compliment and expand the Telefís retro-futurist sensibility. The duo engaged the services of pioneers such as Thomas Leer & Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode/Mute Records) and also dance floor mavericks like Basement Jaxx, Howie B & Andy Meecham (The Emperor Machine, Chicken Lips, Bizarre Inc. & others).
Special Report" is a 22-track CD and Digital set that collects all of the Telefís remixes and alternate versions under one roving antenna. Features new versions of "Seo É Glór Na Teilifíse" and "Feed The Light" plus two previously unreleased remixes -- "The Age Of Cling featuring Will Sergeant" (Cling Clang Version by Jacknife Lee) and "Strawboy Supernova" (Madrid Metal by Howie B).

Telefís is a collaboration between Cathal Coughlan (Microdisney, Fatima Mansions) and Jacknife Lee (ex-Compulsion and producer for U2, REM, Modest Mouse). During the lockdown period, the pair have created their debut album, ‘a hAon’, a wry, mischievous collection of songs that express a “corrosive nostalgia”. ‘We Need’ and 'Mister Imperator' are the first songs to be shared from this record.
