This is mainly about how I'd been displaying signs of undiagnosed autism for my entire life, but never actually had this addressed until I was 18. But it can also be read as general anxiety if that's what resonates with you the best.
I still haven't gotten a formal diagnosis; not only is it more costly than I really feel like taking on, but many times, people that do have a diagnosis have a much harder time finding or keeping a job. Not all, but some employers will see any sort of disability and won't hire somebody on that basis alone, regardless of the person's actual capability to do the task.
