Reflections (EP) by TBL

This EP is TBL's outtakes and ideas that where formulated after Voyager was released. The EP was started in 11/15/20 and was a long process. The album went through many title and song changes until 07/05/21 as the band or the leader of the band (Hunter Thompson) finally decided what direction it was going to take as they had played a show and showcased one of the songs that would be put on this album (Faded Memory).

This EP explores many ideas and concepts that plagued the band while writing it. Some of those themes would be: splitting up, leadership changes, individualism, and many more. Many of these themes are due to the aftermath of Voyager. The band was not really expecting the album to do a well as it had. However, this turned into many disagreements which could easily be seen not only in this record, but during the recording process for Voyager. Many of these arguments that the band had personally and sonically where due to Ian Cole-Carlo leaving. They understood he had to leave, but with the advent of him leaving it left a massive hole in the band.

The band would go through a couple line up changes as they tried to cope with the departure of Ian. They would first enlist their future lighting manager Michael into the band as a guitarist. This unfortunately didn't work out. So as they continued they picked up another keyboardist also named Michael they just have different last names. Once again though this addition just didn't make the cut. This would result in troubles inside the band though.

The two leaders of TBL (Hunter Thompson and Jackson Nenninger) would begin to evaluate the band and would have frequent talks about how the band should go. Both members created tension when they had different ideas for how the band should go. As a result of this, the bass player (Lucas Marcet) would become the target for what some would call hazing. Which was a very common occurrence when Lucas had first joined the band. This would lead to Lucas eventually having little interest for practices or hanging with one of the two leaders.

So Hunter had to step in and with that intervention, they where able to sit down and record their follow up record. During the recording process, be it virtually, the band members began to reform their somewhat lost friendships. This would cultivate in the overall themes of the album. The other side to this is the band would once again regain their identity.

With all of this in mind the band would like to thank some people. They'd like to thank friends, families, and supporters. A special thanks to Carlos Marcet for being a wonderful "manager" and to the girlfriends. None of this would be possible without these people.
