such an awful sight

too much to see

from the rope around your neck
as you look for shelter
jerks you back
frantic helter skelter

attack and attack
kill or be killed

broken spine
crawl about lame
straw and hay
exhibition game

you wanted the world
put you on a pedestal
so peacefully curled

time to decide
paperwork and money
