I once knew a bird
Who was forged from the sun and wind so I heard
She was an ember out there in the dark
Beneath all the kindling the gentlest spark to guided me through the unknown
She was my home

I can still recall
Those long summer days
Where peacefully she lay asleep by the doorway
And dream of the woods where we'd wander for miles
amongst the great cedars the oaks and the pines
I know a part of us both still live in that place

Where I can still see her
There in the autumn light
beneath the trees
Oooh how she showed me
How to believe that one day a singular bird
Can change the world

From Sirius, she fell
Burning so bright
Bold and emblazoned
Like starlight
Making her waves
All of the seasons
they come and they pass
But I know that I will keep finding my way back
Back to that place

Where I can still see her
There in the autumn light
Beneath the trees
and I wonder if she can see me

I can still hear
The faint sound of footsteps
The wind in the leaves
In the briefest of moments
I'm here in a dream
Of amber and golden
But it's frayed at the seams
Yet somehow I'm still holding
Onto that feeling
like it never ended
Holding my breath
As I lay there suspended
The light was refracting
Way out from my reach
But you showed me ways to believe
