Shadow Shadow by Swan Wash

Swan Wash returns with their first full-length offering "Shadow Shadow," released by Sister Cylinder. Welcoming drummer/songwriter/engineer Wyatt Worcel to the fold, the LP sees the trio exploring the light-and-shade dynamism of its initial EPs, pushing their deathrock impetus into entirely new areas of expression with charging rhythms, lyrically ghostly guitar textures, and meditations on the shelf life of both body and memory under time's relentless gaze. With material written on either end of their lockdown-era hiatus, the bulk of the album was tracked live in the band's rehearsal space, with additional recording by Cincinnati DIY veteran Jerry Westerkamp and an analog-heavy mix by engineer/synthesist Jon Booth (Ray Creature/Linda). Now revealed, "Shadow Shadow" unfolds like a dream both vivid and vexing, an impression of impermanence discomfiting and bracing by turns.

Swan Wash formed in 2017 from the ashes of a Siouxsie and the Banshees tribute band. They released two cassette EPs before announcing their debut LP "Shadow Shadow" in spring 2024.
