Vent Nera by Supercozi

EP ' Vent Nera ' is 2025 Autumn delight from Japanese artist Supercozi, who based in Nice Côte d'Azur, South of France.

Title ' Vent Nera ' meaning ' Black Wind ' in French and Corsican.
And true to its title, this dark and thrilling track—a near-eleven-minute downtempo piece pulsing with a driving 4/4 kick at 115 BPM—unfolds with the grandeur of a medieval-set film, adorned with oriental-style instruments and deep melodies.

She originally worked on the track before / after her 11 days solo trip to Corsica, a mountainous Mediterranean island in 2024 Autumn (From Sep 14th to Sep 25th).

Only 50min flight from Nice, yet Corsica is known for its own charm with the coastal towns lined with sturdy stone buildings, Tales of medieval pirates, dense forest and mountains dominated by rugged, rocky slopes.
This was her 3rd trip to the island.

She visited various places with a friend who lives in the island for decades as a guide, including L'Ile-Rousse, Saint-Florent, A medieval citadel in Calvi, and Pigna - A small mountain commune where many artists and musicians resides and do creative work. During this trip, she experienced few concerts of Traditional Corsican instrument musicians and groups whom mastered polyphonic choral tradition.


She completed track in 2025 June, before she attended to Ozora Festival in Hungary - one of the biggest dance music Festival in Europe.
She played at their beloved Chillout stage DOME on the final day (7th day ) of the festival, August 3rd which her birthday.

She played 2.5 hours set and first 1.5 hours was a producer DJ set which crafted with her original tunes she produced between 2006 to 2025 and more than half of them were special edits she worked for this Dome set. And ' Corsica ' is only new track she played in this set towards to the set's ending.

The coupling track “Soleil Bohemia” (Dancing Wednesday Dome Edit) is one of several remixes she created specifically for the Ozora Festival 2025. The original track is featured on the 2025 album “Base Odyssey”.

This edit incorporates swing grooves reminiscent of the flapper era from the 1920s to 1930s, alongside creepy riffs and added SFX. It was created envisioning a scene from the film The Addams Family, where character Wendy Addams dances with Frankenstein's butler, Lurch.

Bonus track is ' Tuscany ', a introspective piece with exuding a tranquil atmosphere, originally produced in 2018 after her second trip to Corsica, then Tuscany region in Italy where she across the sea by over night ferry.


EP『ヴェント・ネラ』は、フランス南部ニース・コート・ダジュールを拠点とする日本人アーティストSupercoziによる2025年秋のリリースだ。


『ヴェント・ネラ』は、フランス語・コルシカ語で『黒い風』を意味する。
そしてタイトル通り、疾走感にあふれた４／４キックの１１５BPMのダークでスリリングなトラックは、オリエント調の楽器や深みのあるメロディーに彩られながら、まるで中世を舞台にした映画のように壮大に展開していく１１分近いダウンテンポだ。

彼女が2024年秋（9月14日～25日）に、地中海の山岳島コルシカへの11日間の単独旅行をした前後にかけて制作された。


コルシカ島はニースからわずか50分のフライト距離にあるにもかかわらず、頑丈な石造りの建物が並ぶ海岸沿いの町々、中世の海賊の物語、鬱蒼とした森、険しい岩肌が支配する山々といった独自の魅力で知られる。
今回は彼女の3度目のコルシカ島訪問であった。

彼女はイル＝ルース、サン＝フロラン、カルヴィの中世の城塞、そして多くの芸術家や音楽家が居住し創作活動を行う小さな山岳コミューン、ピニャなど様々な場所を、島に長く住む友人のガイドにより訪れた。この旅の中で、彼女は伝統的なコルシカ楽器の演奏家や、ポリフォニック合唱の伝統を極めたグループによる数回のコンサートを体験し、深い印象を得たという。

彼女は2025年6月にトラック制作を完了し、その後ハンガリーで開催されたヨーロッパ最大級のダンスミュージックフェスティバル「オゾラ・フェスティバル」に参加。フェスティバル最終日（7日目）の８月３日、彼女の誕生日に、同フェスで人気のチルアウトステージ「DOME」でプレイした。

彼女は2時間半のセットを披露し、最初の1時間半はプロデューサーDJセットとして、2006年から2025年にかけて制作したオリジナル楽曲で構成。その半数以上は本DOMEセットのために特別に編集したバージョンだった。そして『ヴェント・ネラ』は、セット終盤に向けて披露された唯一の新曲である。

カップリングトラック『ソレイユ・ボヘミア』（ダンシング・ウェンズデイ・ドーム・エディット）は、彼女がオゾラ・フェスティバル2025のために特別に手掛けたリミックスの一つである。原曲は2025年発表のアルバム『ベース・オデッセイ』に収録されている。


このエディットでは、１９２０年から３０年代にかけてのフラッパー時代を彷彿とさせるスウィング・グルーヴや、クリーピーなリフ、SFXを追加。映画『アダムスファミリー』の登場人物ウェンディ・アダムスがフランケンシュタインの執事ラルチと踊る情景をイメージに制作された。


ボーナストラックは『トスカーナ』。
内省的な楽曲で、静謐な空気を漂わせている。2018年、コルシカ島への二度目の旅の後、夜行フェリーで海を渡りイタリアのトスカーナ地方を訪れたのちに制作された。
