Evetta from Emo Ukulele by Sunflowers for Sam

The working title for this song was "ducinator" (pronounced "deuce-inator"). Despite being the first track on the EP, it was actually the second last song I wrote and recorded. The original idea that I recorded on my phone was one I did in passing, and I had forgotten about it, until I was scrolling through my voice memos, and was like, "what the hell is ducinator?" Upon hearing it back, however, I knew immediately that I could flesh it out into a song that would be the opening track.

The song is named after Evetta Muradasilova, the voice actress credited as playing The Doll in Bloodborne (and a couple of other voices in From Software games). When I was first considering how to name the song, I thought of calling it "Hunter's Dream", because the song has an ethereal, dreamy sound, and the lyrics are kind of sinister. I thought that this would suit being the name of one of my songs, especially because I named one of the songs on the sad house EP "painted world", which is from Dark Souls. I then thought to call it "The Doll", but didn't like that, either, so I went one step further removed and named the song after the actress.

The instrumental part in the middle (repeated towards the end of the song) was the ukulele part I had the most difficulty recording. It sounds simple, hearing it back, but, man... It took me a while. The chords for this song are 0002, 2212, and 0212.
