Dreamland by Sundae & Mr. Goessl
While Dreamland has a variety of tunes spanning several decades, the vibe this album brings is like enjoying a hot cocoa on a snowy evening at grandma's house. She's got music you've never heard of (or as grandma calls them, "classics") she's got warmth and love and coziness, and best of all she has the perfect recipe for hot chocolate -- a recipe you've never had before. Kinda like one of those crazy Bloody Mary's with all the fixins on the side of the glass, but it's like, a cinnamon stick and a candy cane and tri-colored marshmallows and a king size Reeses hung on the rim like a lemon slice. It's good. Real good. With jazzy female vocals and occasional harmonies featuring multiple styles from song to song from pop to Brazilian to old-timey to trad jazz, this album was created with feel-good nostalgic sentiment and is accentuated with the signature Sundae + Mr. Goessl sound of impossible finger-style guitar and cheeky melodica with some added spice of drums, bongos, bass and percussion.
