The 2nd of 12 monthly single releases from Sundae + Mr. Goessl is a lovely spin on the Roy Orbison tune ""Blue Bayou"". Taking inspiration from Linda Ronstadt, Les Paul & Mary Ford, and their hometown of Oshkosh, WI this rendition feels both nostalgic and new at the same time.
Blue Bayou is one of those songs that does a terrific job of interpreting that feeling of reminiscing. Looking back to a time in our lives that we maybe didn't value while existing in that time. It's true that when we recall such memories, we tend to enhance and romanticize them...such is Sundae + Mr. Goessl's interpretation of this classic tune. With lush 3 part harmonies, layered percussion, intricate guitar work, and it's surfy-but-not-islandy feel, this exotic cover is easily a favorite summer jam of 2021.
