'Taken from recordings of their 2007 tour of the UK, The Sweeter Natural finds the Sunburned clan in a fucked up, experimental mood. Minus a few all-out MC5 heavy jams (Developer is an rock'n'roll amphetamine fest filled with barely audible shrieks and the most inhumane beating of the drums), this release will certainly have you bending out of shape and drooling uncontrollably. Some tracks reminded me of what was released on Attica Rectangle: bizarre, early-Residents at their most lobotomizing and dangerous with fucked up samples or cheap keyboard sounds played at varying speeds (check out Ducking Phones or the incomprehensible On Busted Legs). No tracks truly stand out above the others, but this release is proof that Sunburned can pretty much do whatever the fuck they want and get away with it simply because no matter how familiar a tune might sound, there will always some new and surprising element in there somewhere.'
