emanations by steven leak

"emanations" is the first release in a series i'm calling "rawsongs".
"raw" because they are entirely that. no polishing, no mastering . . . field recordings matched with soundscapes that i create in my little studio.

these rawsongs are the sonic equivalent of the rough drawings and sketches i create before i paint.
to my eyes, those rough drawings have more juice in them than the finished creation.
to my ears, sometimes these "rawsongs" have more of the "juice" of what's trying to get here than what actually gets shared out into the world.

I am a Canadian musician who creates soundscapes. These soundscapes are created with Arturia Microfreak and Minifreak synthesizers various electronic devices , pre-recorded loops, field recordings, and found sounds. I am also a member of "The Forever Moment" a band where I get to co-create music with Mark Cook.
