This piece is inspired by those moments when we stop pushing so hard and just let life take its course. Sometimes, the best things come when we let go a little, stop striving, and simply be.
With Coasting, I wanted to bring that sense of ease to the music—a laid-back flow that reminds us it’s alright to slow down and take things as they come. I hope that the tempo feels unhurried and quietly confident. As in some of my other compositions, there is a mixture of minor chords and major lifts which communicate a reflective sentiment alongside moments of positivity and hope. Hopefully, it brings a bit of that calm into your day, too.
