Take Care from Carolina Mountains by Sparrow Smith

I wrote this as an exercise of trying to speak to myself as kindly as I would to a close friend. We are often very hard on ourselves, and we all can benefit from encouragement and kindness. I used a metaphor of climbing a mountain to show myself that I am rewarded for my hard work with beautiful views and the euphoria that I feel when I get to a stopping point on a huge project. I’ve been building my own house for 4 years and am nearly finished, so I’m really feeling that final push toward a summit right now!
