Intimate Addictions by Amanda Schoofs

Intimate Addictions is a visual and poetic score, created by Amanda Schoofs, that explores brutal inharmonic aggression stabilized by exquisite, forbidden beauty; pure, sustained pitch embedded with grating, metallic noise; and alluring, intimate phrases interwoven with raucous, glitch-fucked symmetry.

This album is a collective realization of Schoofs' Intimate Addictions. Both a catalyst and a restraint, the score's poetic directives and raw painted marks were created to be equally explicit and obscure, in an effort to inspire distinct musical and performance qualities. Originally created for musicians David Collins, Trevor Saint, and Steve Schlei, Intimate Addictions has been realized in many diverse and often interdisciplinary performance settings.
