Device by Takashi Hayashi

The title of the work concerns my vision for cities. The way we have adapted to our surroundings. Like a giant living being or huge interconnected machine. We are all part of this device. For better or for worse.

This composition contains numerous recordings that were collected between February - May, 2017. The majority of these sounds were taken from walkways underneath Tokyo. There we can find waste water systems that often are empty during these months and have always fascinated me since I was a child.
