Ophion is the first studio album by Sonisterica. The songwriting was immediately characterized by grooves, mood swings and hysteria, without disdaining the search for melodic themes.
And it is from the union of these apparently contrasting concepts like SUONO, the Italian word for SOUND, and ISTERIA (hysteria), which characterizes modern society and social relations, that the name of the band was born. We are all increasingly hysterical.
SONISTERICA was born in the summer of 2016 with the aim to give light to an inter-genre musical project that mixed elements of prog-rock, alternative metal and darkwave. The first line-up included Antonio Mulas (bass), Flavio Fancellu (drum) and Paolo Mereu (guitar). Only two years later Alfredo Carboni joined the band and gave voice to the tracks, until then instrumental.
